The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funds are provided through a contract between Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) and the Southern 14 Workforce Board who then contracts these funds to Wabash Area Development, Inc. to provide services to our local population. WIOA Services are listed below:
Training:
Provides education/training in approved training programs through our local community colleges. Covered items are: tuition, books, fees, required tools, and any additional items the program requires.
Supportive Services such as:
Work Experience:
Paid employment at a local employer (WADI pays your wages) for a period of time (1 to 6 months) to help the customer acquire job skills and soft skills to enable them to gain employment somewhere after the work experience has ended.
On-The-Job Training:
Employment with a local employer who will be paying your wages. You will be their employee and WADI will reimburse the employer one half of your hourly wage for a set period of time with the intention of the employer retaining you after the OJT has been completed.
Eligibility for the Program:
You must live in WADI’s service area (Edwards, Gallatin, Hamilton, Saline, Wabash, Wayne or White counties). Some eligibility is income based and some is not. In order to see if you qualify for the program you must call your local WADI office to set up an appointment with the Career Planner to determine eligibility.

- Child Care
- Car Repair
- Tires
- Help with any qualified item
