Community Service Block GrantThe Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) is a federal program that was created by the federal Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1981. CSBG is administered by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO). CSBG funded agencies are governed by a board of directors consisting of elected public officials, leaders from the private sector, and representatives of the low income community. The CSBG program is designed to provide a range of services which assist low income people to attain stability. WADI is among thirty-six local agencies in Illinois that operate on CSBG funding and provide work programs to address the issues associated with poverty. Learn More!

EnergyEnergy Assistance Program assists households with their heating and electric bills. Households do NOT have to be disconnected or behind on their bills but must meet income guidelines. This program may also repair or replace unsafe or inoperable heating systems. If households are disconnected, have a disconnect notice, or are at 25% or under in their propane tank, additional assistance may be available. Ameren customers may be eligible for percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP), Warm Neighbors Cool Friends, or Ameren Community Assistance. Learn More!

Workforce Innovation and Opportunity ActThe Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) is a federal program. WIOA is administered by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO). WIOA agencies are governed by a board of directors consisting of elected public officials, leaders from the private sector and representatives of the low income community. WADI contracts the WIOA program through the Southern 14 Workforce Investment Board who contracts the program through DCEO. The WIOA program is designed to provide training through local community colleges and work experience/On-The-Job Training with local employers for both low-income and non-low-income people.
